Toddler through Pre-K
“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.”
― Fred Rogers
The Children's Place Program
The Children's Place (TCP) was established in 1981 to provide children aged 2 through Pre-K with a fun, safe, loving, and engaging environment. Our program is year around, opens daily at 7:15 a.m. and closes at 5:45 p.m.
We strongly believe early education can have lifelong physical, social and emotional impacts on a child. Our programs cater to the individual needs and development stages of our students.

Preschool & Pre-K Programs at The Children’s Place
At The Children’s Place, we believe play is the most natural way for young children to learn. Our Preschool (ages 2-4) and Pre-K programs provide hands-on, inquiry-based learning in a nurturing environment where children explore, create, and grow at their own pace.
Our fully qualified teachers support developmentally appropriate social-emotional learning, fostering independence, collaboration, and problem-solving. Through our STEAM-based curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), children engage in curiosity-driven projects—from growing plants to building structures—developing a love for learning that lasts a lifetime.

Hands-on Science & Engineering through tinkering, building, and experimenting
Children at TCP spend at least half their day outdoors, climbing, running, biking, and engaging in imaginative play. Through both structured activities and free exploration, they develop the skills, confidence, and curiosity needed for kindergarten and beyond.
Why TCP for Pre-K?
At The Children’s Place, we believe young children learn best through play—not rigid academics. Our play-based preschool and Pre-K programs prioritize open-ended, child-led exploration, fostering creativity, social skills, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence—essential foundations for lifelong learning.
Unlike many school district Pre-K or Transitional Kindergarten (TK) programs that emphasize structured academic learning, our approach is developmentally appropriate and research-backed. Through our STEAM-based curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), children engage in hands-on projects that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration.
